The BD Phoenix™ M50 instrument provides accurate and timely identification and susceptibility results to guide appropriate therapy and patient management decisions. The system can hold up to 50 panels at a time and can be stacked to maximize limited laboratory space. AST Panels have up to 29 antibiotics on a single panel to reduce offline testing and provide a true MIC value based on current CLSI breakpoint standards. It has demonstrated performance in detecting emerging resistance. It incorporates the use of an oxidation reduction indicator, turbidometric growth detection, full on-panel antimicrobial concentrations and the BDXpert™ System. Together these make up the Phoenix Susceptibility System resulting in rapid, accurate and reliable antimicrobial susceptibility results. These results are further enhanced by specific delayed resistance features, providing additional assurance that Phoenix results are not only rapid but accurate. The inclusion of all reported antimicrobial concentrations on the panel provides the foundation for detection of emerging resistance.
