This filler is also equipped with a metal detector at the outfeed, providing essential quality control by detecting and rejecting bottles containing metallic contaminants. The process section of the line features a Krones Mixer, responsible for the accurate preparation and blending of water and beverage syrups for both still and carbonated drinks. This equipment manages CO₂ dosing, degassing, and temperature control, guaranteeing product consistency and carbonation quality. For product traceability and regulatory compliance, a Hitachi RXS-SD160W inkjet printer marks each bottle with batch codes and expiry dates. Comprehensive Secondary Packaging and End-of-Line Automation Following filling and capping, bottles are conveyed by Krones transport modules to the secondary packaging area. In this section, a Krones Variopack shrink tunnel collates bottles and wraps them into stable packs, with a throughput of up to 45 packs per minute. Consequently, the line reaches a production speed of 14,000 bottles per hour and processes 0.50 L, 1.0 L, and 1.5 L formats with high efficiency. Moreover, the layout allows for seamless integration of all subcomponents. Containers and packaging The system handles PET bottles with a 28 ALASKA 267 neck and uses plastic screw caps for sealing. It applies adhesive labels, while packaging is done using shrink film only. In particular, the line supports 3×2 and 4×3 bundling patterns depending on the container size. It also applies adhesive-tape handles to each bundle, ensuring ergonomic handling. As a result, the packaging meets both logistical and retail requirements. The palletizing system uses wooden pallets measuring 800×1200 mm, which conform to standard European formats. Main components of the bottling line The Used bottling line SMI for CSD 14000 bph includes an Ecobloc 8-66-8 block by SMI, which integrates stretch-blow molding, filling, and capping into one compact structure. Therefore, it reduces both footprint and maintenance complexity. A Smiform chiller, also by SMI, provides reliable cooling throughout the bottling cycle. Furthermore, the Chemicount Lubry-Sec unit doses lubricants precisely into the system. As such, it ensures smooth container flow along the conveyors. A P.E. Labellers machine applies the adhesive labels with accurate alignment. Additionally, a VIDEOJET printer prints batch codes, expiration dates, and other data directly onto the bottles. Conveying and end-of-line equipment SMI’s Smiline conveyors transport bottles throughout the entire line with high reliability. At this stage, the Smiflexi handle applicator places adhesive handles on multipacks efficiently and with minimal downtime. Next, the SK 450 F shrink wrapper, also by SMI, bundles the bottles using shrink film, adapting to different formats automatically. Following this, the Smipal palletizer stacks the finished packs onto pallets in optimized layouts. Finally, the Biesse Orbiter pallet wrapper secures the load with stretch film, preparing it for transport. Environmental and operational conditions The Used bottling line SMI for CSD 14000 bph operates in ambient temperatures between -5°C and +35°C. In indoor conditions, it performs best between +20°C and +30°C. It functions reliably at altitudes up to 500 meters above sea level, making it suitable for many production facilities. Humidity up to 60 percent does not impair functionality; however, maintaining proper ventilation is advisable. The system requires a 400 V power supply with a frequency of 50 Hz and tolerates voltage variations of ±10 percent. Operators must supply blowing air at 40 bar and service air between 4 and 10 bar, depending on the machine.
