Minimum pressure retaining valve The minimum pressure valve is located at the compressed air inlet of the air aftercooler. It performs two functions: 1) As a pressure retaining valve, it prevents the pressure from dropping below a minimum overpressure of 4.5 bar when there is no back pressure. This pressure is necessary to ensure the oil supply to the compressor.
