Machine operating principle:
The turning device consists of two opposing tables, each with a support surface of 1400 x 900 mm. On the side of the table that is facing downwards during swiveling, the load-bearing steel profiles are angled upwards by 90° in order to securely hold the plate to be turned even in a vertical position during the 90° swiveling process.
Both tables are arranged opposite each other and are swivelled by 100° using hydraulic cylinders.
The tables are mounted on a load-bearing substructure, on which one table is fixed and the other is movable relative to it. The movement is carried out by hydraulic cylinders, which can move the table, which is mounted on rollers, by approximately 300 mm. The substructure also supports the hydraulic and electrical components.
A hydraulic unit serves as the drive source, supplying the cylinders with oil according to the control commands. The corresponding valves are electrically and/or hydraulically controlled and initiate and maintain the movements of the tables required for their interaction until the turning process is completed.
Particular attention is paid to the safety of the movements and the precise adjustment of the table movement in the interaction between pressure and tension when designing the hydraulic system. The geometry of the axes of rotation of the tables results in a change in the load effect on the tilting cylinders. The hydraulics are designed in such a way that the required performance is ensured and an overload of the components is not possible during normal operation. Corresponding filters, combined with a generously sized tank volume, ensure a high availability of the hydraulic system.
The necessary electrical control is completely housed in a steel sheet metal enclosure, which contains all the required components. The core of the control is a PLC, in which the operating parameters are processed according to the program specification. In addition, the emergency stop function and all the relays and output units required to control the functions are installed. The turning device is operated via a control panel in which a touch panel is used to input the function parameters, such as swivel table 1 up, swivel table 1 down, move table 1 forward, move table 1 backward, swivel table 2 up, swivel table 2 down, as well as start or stop the automatic mode.
In order to avoid a collision of the tables in manual operation, the PLC programming is designed in such a way that this is prevented by the data on the table position and the respective table inclination.
After the emergency stop situation has been resolved, the PLC control automatically completes the turning process.
The turning device is equipped with heavy-duty rollers and can therefore be moved.
