Bottles are rinsed before being transferred to the filling section. Before filling, the bottles are pressurised, normally using CO₂. Beer is then filled from the bottom through long filling tubes. The system uses separate channels for bottle pressurising gas and return gas and is designed to minimise turbulence, foaming and oxygen uptake. After filling, the bottles pass a high-pressure injection device (jetter), which produces controlled foaming to help displace air from the bottle neck immediately before crown capping.
