The speed change occurs promptly with the setting when the axis is rotating. The direction of rotation is determined by the foot switch. The right switch makes the axis rotate clockwise, the left switch counterclockwise. When the foot switch is pressed, the axis accelerates to the set speed, when the switch is released, the axis brakes again.
